Your work changes lives. Every day, you support individuals facing adversity, helping them navigate challenges and move forward. But beyond immediate interventions, how do we help people build the inner and external resources to sustain progress over time?

The missing link is sustainable resilience building.

This workshop is your toolkit to move clients from crisis management to lasting resilience, without toxic positivity or ignoring systemic barriers.

This isn’t about clinical tools or ‘fixing’ others. It’s about building science-backed conceptual clarity and grounded awareness, especially around the myth that resilience is just about personal grit. You’ll learn how resilience is actually shaped by relationships, systems, and intentional support, and how to work with that insight.

Who Should Attend

This one-day workshop is ideal for human service professionals who:

  • Support people experiencing adversity and trauma — including case workers, helpline responders, intake officers, medical social workers, crisis support professionals, social work associates, youth workers, community workers, therapists, educators, residential care workers, and other social sector professionals

  • Value strategies that respect lived experiences and address systemic inequities

  • Want to feel more confident and equipped to foster resilience in their work

What You’ll Gain

  • A fresh perspective on resilience not as ‘personal grit’ but as a skill that can be nurtured. No toxic positivity!

  • Learn how resilience is built within relationships, communities, and systems—not just at the individual level.

  • Tools to build resilience with clients, not just for them, without crossing into therapy

  • A supportive space for reflective practice

What past participants are saying

From our May 2025 Resilience Training for human service professionals, participants shared how the session helped them reframe resilience, reflect more intentionally, and feel supported in their work:

“It was very informative with real life experiences. Trainer was definitely vulnerable in her sharing that showcased how human this work is and that it's always a work in progress.”

“Resilience shifted from only a personal trait of grit/grin and bear it to something more holistic and encompassing—intrinsic, relational, buildable, and a constant process of unfurling and becoming.”

“That resilience is not about ‘sucking it up’ but the space in between knowing and not knowing—which can be messy.”

“Inform my language when in conversation with people in my life experiencing trauma.”

“That I don't have to feel fearful of having to say the perfect thing, but rather work on co-creating support together. And that even silence can hold space.”

Testimonials & voices from the field

Here’s what leaders and practitioners have shared about Anisha’s facilitation and training approach:

“Anisha works with one of the most difficult fields of practice — sexual violence. Her training brings a deeper appreciation of survivors’ lived experiences, their challenges, and their personal and systemic triumphs. With a strong theoretical grounding in trauma theory, restorative justice, and sexual violence, she provides a solid foundation that’s both practical and reflective. Anisha trains with both the client and the practitioner in mind, enabling participants to consolidate their learning and shape their own style of journeying with clients. She gently challenges, creates space for reflection, and supports learners in arriving at insights that support meaningful practice. Her training is an opportunity to open both minds and hearts to this complex and important work.”

— Udhia Kumar, Social Worker with 30yrs of experience

“Anisha is a skilled and compassionate facilitator who brings both profound expertise and heart to her work. With years of frontline experience supporting survivors of sexual violence, she integrates this real-world understanding into her training, offering a grounded perspective on systems and power. Her approach is rooted in empathy, resilience, and integrity—values that are reflected in every session. Honest, nuanced, and deeply human, Anisha’s training creates spaces that are both challenging and healing, guiding individuals through complex, often tender issues with empathy and care.”

— Grace Arthur, Social Worker
